October 18, 2022 Update:
ANNAPOLIS BOAT SHOW SEMINARS AND WALKABOUT A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!!!! I’m just home from presenting two 90-minute seminars and my 175th Offshore Cruising Seminar. All were sold out weeks ahead and drew keen sailors from all over the world. My free Show Walkabout where I introduce those who show up to the best products and suppliers in the show started with free coffee and scones thanks to Kerry at AMG Insurance and was the largest ever. I enjoy the Walkabout as it gives me the opportunity to check in with the reps, many of whom I’ve known for decades, to check out new cruising-related topics. It was great to meet so many previous seminar and expedition members who had left their boats in exotic locations so they could come back to the States for the Annapolis Boat Show.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I do not accept any type of reimbursement from any person or company whose products or services I recommend. I work ONLY for you, my consultation client or seminar participant.
On November 5th I’m FINALLY returning to New Zealand to complete the sea trial and training of Ken D., Mahina Tiare III’s new owner. I’m hoping to check out the Bavaria 46 I’ve chartered for Legs 9 & 10, 2023 in Auckland.
Legs 9 & 10 will be in New Zealand’s subtropical Bay of Islands where I’ve secured an identical boat to the one I use in Scotland. These expeditions already have accepted applications before they’ve been posted and looks to be the first legs to sell out. We’ll be sailing at the start of New Zealand summer with water warm enough for swimming and snorkeling every day and excellent sailing winds.
